Preliminary study of Varian Halcyon linear accelerator machine performance with 6 MV FFF photon beam

A new development of a linear accelerator machine has been installed in Indonesia for the first time. There is no dosimetric protocol specifically discussing measurement absorbed dose to water Halcyon linac. But, few global protocols determine linac which at same substance. This paper describes dosimetry parameter 6 MV flattening filter-free (FFF) photon beam produced from model Varian using IAEA TRS No. 483 protocols. The data presented this were primary obtained after was hospital and secondary bunker before sent Indonesia. Measurement performed 0.016 cm3 Pinpoint 3D 0.6 TW30013 ionization chambers. percentage depth calculation based on 483. done also 1 mm lead foil (Pb). result shows that maximum depth, Dmax good agreement with manufacture specification deviation 0.3 %, while rate machine-specific reference field within ±0.05 % against cGy = MU calibration. can be determination value radiation quality factor (kQ) two methods TRS-483 (TPR20,10) %dd(10,10))x get match.
